Rabbit Flat (NT)
Rabbit Flat is one of the most remote locations in Australia, situated along
the legendary **Tanami Track** between Alice Springs and Halls Creek.
Once home to the famous Rabbit Flat Roadhouse — one of the most isolated
roadhouses in the country — the site is now closed, but remains an iconic
point of reference for outback travellers.
Known for its extreme remoteness, vast desert landscapes and long
stretches of rugged track, Rabbit Flat is a symbol of classic
Australian outback endurance. The area continues to attract adventurers,
4WD explorers and those seeking the raw beauty of the Tanami.
ShowcasingOz TV will be capturing the history, remoteness and challenging
landscapes around Rabbit Flat as part of our 2026 journey across
Australia’s most isolated routes.
